To get the most out of your stove or chiminea, we recommend burning only hardwood.
This wood must be seasoned and dry, ideally down to a moisture content of 15%-20%
This can take up to 2 years, so if you do not have suitable wood to burn now, or you don’t have the space to dry enough wood for up to 2 years worth of burning, then our Kiln Dried Firewood is the answer.
The Harrogate Stove Company is the leading supplier of Kiln Dried Firewood for the Harrogate, Knaresborough and North Yorkshire area and the 5th Largest in the UK. (source: Certainly Wood)

Certainly Wood supply top quality firewood from sustainably managed English woodlands. The wood is first chopped, then barn-aired and finally kiln dried to bring the moisture content down to as low as 15%.
Unlike many other logs sold in nets, all the wood is hardwood, i.e. from trees that lose their leaves in the winter, such as oak.
Softwoods, (conifers) which we do not sell include spruce and pine and these burn much faster than hardwoods and have a tendency to spit and crackle.
Ash, Oak and Beech – only hardwoods and all kiln dried.
Ash – The King of firewood. Produces both heat and bright flame – our favourite.
Oak – Very dense so difficult to dry. Burns very slowly and gives off lots of heat.
